The colour of a diamond is graded on a sliding scale from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow or brown) and refers to how much colour the diamond contains. Colour differences can be very subtle and it is difficult to see the difference between say an E and an F. When directly comparing diamonds for color, most consumers are unable to detect a difference unless they are at least two or three color grades apart. Yet colour can ultimately come down to personal taste.
